Liverpool are reportedly ready to fight Spanish giants Barcelona in their bid to land Lyon whizkid Houssem Aouar.
And according to a report on Goal, the Reds are ready to launch a second bid for the 19-year-old having failed to lure Aouar to Anfield before he signed his first professional deal in France.
The report goes on to state that Lyon’s homegrown talent, which includes the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Nabil Fekir, are normally fiercely loyal to the club and it would appear that Aouar is no different.
He said: “I still live with my mum. She’s done everything for me and I feel great at her place. She brings me equilibrium.
“Playing in big matches and having cameras trained on me, afterwards to go back to her place, it allows me to keep my feet on the ground – that’s important.
“I give a lot of importance to my family and the city of Lyon, and I’m happy I decided to stay.”
