Liverpool have joined Barcelona in the race to sign a £100m-rated Tottenham Hotspur star, according to a report.
According to Transfer Market Web, the Anfield club have entered the race for Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The Danish midfielder’s long-term future in North London remains in doubt, which has alerted potential suitors who are now eyeing a possible summer move.
Eriksen’s performances this season in both the Premier League and Champions League have caused Barcelona to take note, especially after he shone against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the group stages as well as Juventus on Tuesday night.
Don Balon claim that Luis Suarez has learned of Barca’s interest in Eriksen over the last few weeks, with the Catalan club eyeing long-term replacements for Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic.
Liverpool meanwhile are still looking for to replace Philippe Coutinho, who left Anfield for the Nou Camp in a £142million January deal.
Spurs have a reluctance to offer Eriksen a huge wage, and were linked with a move for Bordeaux star Malcom in January, showing they are possibly already looking for an alternative should they become unable to re-sign him.
Juventus too have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old and could make a summer move.
